未来币最鲜明的特性就是采用了权益证明机制 [1] 。了解比特币的人都知道，基于区块链技术原理的虚拟货币容易遭受51%攻击(若某个人或某组织的挖矿运算能力超过所有其他人的总和，那么这个人就可以随意操纵该虚拟货币的区块链)。但在权益证明机制下，挖矿的新区块的产出取决于已拥有该虚拟货币的数量与拥有时间相乘。若要实施51%攻击，攻击之前攻击者自己就必须拥有该虚拟货币的多数，否则无法实施攻击，这实际上变成了自己攻击自己。故而权益证明机制可以有效抵御攻击，而且该机制让挖矿不像比特币那样演变成剧烈的军备竞赛，从而节约了能源。

另外，未来币还拥有“透明锻造”功能、资产交易、发送消息、账户租赁、去中心化域名等等独特功能。

未来币与比特币的共同点

第一，无实体形态。与比特币一样，未来币也是虚拟货币，没有实体形态。第二，去中心化。与比特币一样，未来币也是去中心化的架构，没有中心机构控制，无中央银行、商业银行等中介尾色。第三，区块链技术。与比特币一样，未来币也是采用区块链技术，但是由于采用权益证明机制，所以未来币却没有51%攻击的问题。

未来币与比特币的区别

第一，工作量证明模式不同未来币采用权益证明机制，而不是比特币的工作量证明机制。权益证明机制可以有效抵御51%攻击，而且该机制让挖矿不像比特币那样演变成剧烈的装备竞赛，这间接节约了能源。

第二，未来币特有的“透明锻造”功能未来币不需要“挖矿”，而是使用旧账户的余额“锻造”新区块，参与“锻造”新区块的账户有权获得交易费用作为奖励。这个机制可以让每一个客户端能够自动决足下一个区块由哪个服务器节点负责产生，这样的话客户端就能节省中间环节，可以将交易记录直接发送到该节点，这就能让交易确认的时间缩短到最短。并且，透明锻造功能还允许惩罚那些试图制造恶意分支的节点恶意节点“锻造力”临时清零。

第三，未来币特有的“彩色币”功能未来币允许给一个特足的币“着色”，着色后的“彩色币”可以代表债券、股票、财产、商品或任意概念，可以交易任何东西。这就是未来币的资产交易功能。

第四，发生消息功能从第4万个区块开始，允许用户发送少量信息，可以是文本信息，也可以是不超过1000字节的其他数据。

第五，未来币特有的账户租赁功能用户可以把自己的锻造力出租给其他人，这个功能可以用来组建锻造矿池。

第六，未来币特有的去中心化域名功能用户可以注册名称并获得系统分配的URI，而且域名可以参与交易。
